Today is the end of the Spring Preview Parade of Homes. It started on a Saturday a month ago and ends on a Sunday. This is a time when local builders in the area showcase their homes as they get ready for the construction season to start. Over the last 6 years it has been a difficult time in the new home construction business. The number of model homes in the Parade is slowly on the rise with many new designs and materials being displayed.
This is also a great time to think about remodeling your house. Our existing stock of houses is getting older and many are in need of repair. Many are in good condition but lack the floor plans and features that many families desire today with their busy lives. Our needs are constantly changing and our homes need to change with them.
The Parade of Homes tour is a great place to start looking for ideas for remodeling your existing house. There are homes from $175,000 to $ 2,500,000 that can offer many ideas that you can implement into your existing space. Just because you don’t own a million dollar house doesn’t mean you can’t get something out of one for your house.
I tour 40 to 50 Parade homes each year to get ideas for your home and mine. There is so much going on today with home design and new materials that the Parade of Homes is a great resource to get started. If you missed it this spring, just wait until the fall Parade. It will be here before you know it.
